A Life Full of Adventure and Love

Marie’s journey began on the old farm on Old State Road in Johnstown, NY, where she often shared tales of her childhood adventures, including rides in the rumble seat. Later, she met her husband, Francis Doyle, at the car hop diner he owned, affectionately called “Top of the Hill Acres.” Marie embraced her role as a car hop waitress until they started their own family, raising three children together.

Embracing Life’s Simple Joys

Marie’s adventurous spirit and unwavering kindness extended beyond her family life. She found joy in helping others and cherished her time in the kitchen and garden, where she shared her culinary skills with her grandchildren. From early morning serenades to playful interactions, Marie’s home was always filled with laughter and warmth.

A Loving Matriarch

Marie adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love and affection. Her involvement in her son’s farm and her interactions with the animals brought her immense joy, despite her initial protests of “Another mouth to feed?” She signed every birthday card with “Love, Grandma Doyle and all of her critters,” showcasing her playful and loving nature.

Marie’s legacy is one of recognizing the goodness in people and embracing life’s simple pleasures. Her positive outlook and lively spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her. Marie is survived by her children Deborah (Robert) Landrio, Lori Penny, Kevin Doyle, sister Shirley Van Lone, brother Richard Frederick, Sister-in-law Pauline Frederick, and brother-in-law Don Ellis. She adored her grandchildren Antionette (Joe) Glasser, Krystle (Michael) Proctor, Brenna (Spencer) Doyle, Elli Doyle, and Michael (Abby) Penny, as well as great-grandchildren Giavanna Glasser and Hannah Proctor.

A Celebration of Life

In honor of Marie’s vivacious spirit and her aversion to sadness, attendees of her memorial service are kindly requested to wear clothing adorned with flowers and bright colors. The service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., where friends and family will gather to celebrate Marie’s remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
